According to a recent news report from NBC News, the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection declared both the Eaton & the Palisade fires in Southern California 100% contained after a staggering 24 days of destruction and devastation.
The Pacific Palisades Fire
The Palisades Fire was the first to ignite, starting on the morning of January 7 in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood just east of Malibu, California. It began as a brush fire but quickly grew due to dry weather and wind.
